Twitter activated a virtual "tip jar" for some users

 


On Thursday, Twitter began allowing certain users to add virtual tips to their accounts so that people can throw money to back up their tweets. 

 A certain number of users who tweeted in English around the world can add a "reminder pot" feature to their profile, according to Esther Crawford, Twitter's senior product manager. 

 The group includes creators, journalists, experts and non-profit organizations. 

 "You promote conversations on Twitter, and we hope to make it easier for you to support each other where you follow, retweet and like". Crawford wrote in his blog. 

" This is the first step in our work to create new ways for people to get money and show support on Twitter.
